@vegasunboxed: Replying to @YaGirlSaffyyyyy I can totally empathize with this comment because I know what that is like. I hope this video helps you change that. Good luck in your career!
it's not bragging, it's inspiring others to achieve the same. because if you can do it, then I can do it attitude 😁

I love, love this! Our culture plays a big role as to why we are uneasy about sharing about what we do and who we are. You can be labelled as someone who's a show-off or a know-it-all and as such, you get mocked because we're all taught to just "go with the flow" and "be like everyone else" so that you're not at odds and ends with anyone. And talk about crab mentality here?! But then, we reach a phase where "mediocrity" for the sake of silence or so-called humility is deplorable. We all deserve to shine one way or the other. So I say, go for it!

I like to use the word assertiveness
l am never shy to sell myself. I know who I am and what I am capable of. Some might think it's a brag. I honestly don't care, as long as I don't step on. anyone's toes. I am also very polite and appreciative of others' talent.

THIS.... It took me a decade to realize I can be proud of my success without being smug about it. I worked hard for my achievements, and I now flaunt those letters after my name!

So relatable! And when someone compliments you, you seriously don't know how to take it or react - it felt weird.

Actually it's better to let the work do the talking. But I do talk to my supervisor once in awhile to see if there are opportunities.
But in sports, results speak for itself.

This is so true! A lot of my good ideas were stolen coz I was too shy to talk. I would discuss it with my co-workers and they would comments, "that's a good idea" or "that made a lot of sense", then in the company meeting, they would bring it up like it was their idea and claim ot take the credit for it. I learned my lesson well. I only talked to my supervisor about my ideas, and he or she backs me up during company meetings. ☺️
