I badly want to make it clear, yes Icarus actually flew higher and near or towards the sun. But the real scene is that his father Deadalus warned him to not get near the sunlight as it will melt the wax holding their artificial wings together, yet Icarus being young that time is got exaggerated with the experience of flying so he forgets the portents of his father so as he flew higher, the wax on his wings fell apart along with him resulting to consequences of his disobedience.
