@cookwithgaisie: We’re in the Ga month and Homowo is around the corner🙂‍↕️🎉 Kpokpoi/Kpekple(mispronounced form) is a dish of the Ga people which came about as a result of the gods granting them rain and bountiful harvest after a long famine. That is the reason for the celebration of the Homowo festival. Homowo means hooting at hunger. Translated literally as “hunger, go to sleep”. Kpokpoi is mostly served with palmnut soup with fish(the type of fish used is called “tsile”) and you can use any other type of fish also.
