Everybody thinks New Orleans got hit the hardest, but in all reality, the Gulf Coast Mississippi was hit way harder than anybody by Katrina, unfortunately, New Orleans had the worst damage from the levees by itself

it doesn't matter if the levies broke on their own or they were blown up. you dont leave humans in those conditions for 24 hours must less 7 days. I bet the governor found a way to get his family out. no food,water,formula,diapers no medicine for those who required it. this wasn't just a few days of inconvenience. this was pure and evil. even the most unprepared person could have gotten them out sooner.the could have opened schools in undamaged places and set up shelters. the cops should have been holding doors for people to carry food and supplies out. I cant imagine going through that.

I live in woolmarket which is 6 miles from the beach and 1/10th of a mile south of I 10 and I lost everything to a 17ft surge,you guys have no idea how bad it was

MS coast here. Katrina hit us and I was lucky to be north of the railroad tracks. I have some unreal photos. We didn’t have electricity for 4 months where I lived

I was in AL, but from Hattiesburg. I got to see all the coverage on the news while everyone in South MS was cut off from the world. I’ll never forget Brett Farve, of all people, getting on the news & bringing awareness to what was needed: Anyone with fuel & equipment to help get the roads open to get in more aid.
