I think my fear is how little choice I have over my body during pregnancy and post pregnancy.

I’m so frustrated by people who choose not to address big issues before getting pregnant and bringing a child into the world.

I 100% believe it’s something you just have to try and put out of your mind while pregnant. I lost 40lbs prior to pregnancy and loved my body. It was hard watching that hard work disappear but wanting a healthy baby was more important. Putting it out of my mind for those 9.5 months (was two weeks overdue 😅) was what kept me mostly sane.

When I think about the impact of pregnancy on someone’s body, the weight gain is the least of my worries. People lose all their teeth sometimes, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. No thanks.

Love this! I was so caught off guard with how I reacted to my belly growing. I’m not sure how to explain it. But I felt like now I looked opposite of what we’re trained is “attractive”. We need to start expressing that a pregnant body is beautiful.

I’m almost 6 months pregnant and have been struggling with an ED since my teenage years; every time a person tells me that my belly cannot be seen much I feel relieved, it’s a constant battle, but at the end at some point I know I’m not eating for myself as I’m feeding my baby 🥺

I will say the one of the hardest parts of being pregnant right now has been my body changing.

currently 35wks pregnant, I've really enjoyed eeing my belly grow and felt like I was finally free to exist in my body without worrying about being "too big". I hope to keep this mindset after the bith too :) what I found very difficult instead, was the fast pace at which my movements and abilities deteriorated... it's like I don't have time to get to know my body because it changes every week, and each time there's something less I'm able to do, everything hurts and there's new sensations all the time. plus I developed PUPPPS 🙄

I needed to hear this. I’m 34 weeks pregnant and my water retention is HORRIBLE. My insulin resistance is HORRIBLE. Everything is horrible and I’m so swollen. I got married to the love of my life today and looking at the pictures that people took makes me upset… even though I’m trying to enjoy the day.

Great to see such a kind and empathetic response. I reacted to her negatively myself and you helped me see it a different way, thank you! ❤️

I don’t think I know one person who has gone through pregnancy unchanged. It fundamentally rewires you. You can’t “bounce back” when it’s an entire metamorphosis!

The fear is so real. I worked the hardest I ever worked to GET pregnant. I went from my heaviest, to my fittest, to my weakest in 2 years time. My girl is 1 and I’m still working through it

as an athlete having a baby changed my body and I love my baby but it limited how I can use my body even after pregnancy,I had to adjust my breathing techniques and my lung capacity is no longer like it was ,it's a big decision and a career defining decision if you're a model or an athlete plz think things through the are other options to having a baby and stay positive I love your message Abbey but the are alot of things we have to think about it's unfair it a blessing but it has setbacks

The fact is pregnancy removes you from competition in your career. It shouldn’t, but it does. So regardless of self image issues, it’s not something to take lightly.

I struggled with body image since I was so young! I got pregnant at 16, and the love I had for my unborn daughter changed the way I seen my body! I loved my growing belly, the stretch marks! Even after having my daughter I LOVED my body even after just having a baby! Because my body grew MY BABY! ❤

if they can do it we can do it - look at the supermodels and the influencers, they just have self control, the best advice and support (obviously I'm not referring to single mums who don't have anyone to watch watch the babies whilst they look after themselves)♥

I’m 1yr pp and I’m as thin as I was pre pregnancy, but not as strong. I’m scared to lose it all over again, it took a lot longer to see myself again than I hoped. It was really hard not recognizing my body for so long and not having a say in it.
