I agree with 99% of what you wrote. I disagree with thinking this is new. Is it worse? Probably. but looking at history people have always been like this. choosing emotional comfort over uncomfortable critical thinking of what's going on in the world ans their lives. What's happening in Gaza, in Africa, with women, with gay people, with POC people has been going on for generations. Now the info is in our face and we still choose to ignore, consume trash and pretend the most important thing is what's next to buy.
