It looks like the band is just below the model’s hips and sitting on top of your hips instead. I think if you were able to move the band down where it’s supposed to sit it would look similar to the model. Although I do also think it would look great altered as well.

It’s supposed to sit lower on your hips in the spot where it feels too low. That’s why there’s so much fabric
