@nicholas.pititto: Did you know your 401(k) withdrawals in retirement could push you into a higher tax bracket…
Trigger taxes on your Social Security…
And even raise your Medicare premiums?
Most people don’t find out until it’s too late.
But with the right plan, you can disarm the tax “bomb” before it blows up your retirement.

What if I do half in a traditional and half in a Roth? Is that weird? I guess what's the benefit of a traditional, your current taxable income?

And you make much less money after you stop working. Also if you have an RMD and don’t want to pay taxes on it you donate it directly to a nonprofit.

The thing is most people, most will be in a lower tax bracket! Also, look at all the money you’ve made in your 401K tax free! We are in a high tax bracket at the moment so we will see a relief. I think Roth has a place if your younger but I’m not moving ours to pay more taxes now.

The good news is when you pull your money out most likely you are now in a lower tax bracket.

Taxes on Social Security has not been overruled. You still pay taxes. It’s simply an additional standard deduction for seniors to the tune of $6k/individual. That is not a direct offset for most Americans.
