I traumatize my own OCs, usually projecting to cope with what I went through and then get sad about the stories I wrote for them. I feel so bad for making them suffer, but they’re all me, there’s some level of projection in all of them.

my OCs have the same issues as i do but for different reasons so they can be somewhat separate.. usually they're a lot worse off than i am, which inspires me to not make the same mistakes as them and gives me hope
