@lillathemuslimah: Let’s flip the script for a second: Jesus PBUH himself came more than 1,000 years after Moses... Was his message any less true because of that? Truth isn't measured by time gaps, it's measured by consistency and origin. Every prophet came with the same core message: worship the One true God. The message of Islam doesn’t contradict Jesus or Moses (peace be upon them both), it confirms and completes what they taught. And in some cases the Qur’an even corrects historical errors found in the Bible, like calling the ruler of Egypt a king in Joseph’s time, and Pharaoh only in Moses’ time a distinction only confirmed after the discovery of the Rosetta Stone. If we rejected a message just because it came later, then we’d have to dismiss Jesus too. Just as Jesus (peace be upon him) came to continue and fulfill what came before him, Muslims believe that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to confirm and complete that same divine message, as the final messenger in a long chain.
