The AC increases parasitic load, which can cause the idle to drop. The ECU compensates, the cams uneven airflow at low RPM gets exaggerated so the chop sounds nastier.

usually ac will raise idle slightly to compensate for the compressor. so it shouldn't chop harder

ac compressor has a clutch and free spins when not on. more load on the accessory drive when the ac is turned on causing it to idle down, simple.

My Barra chops harder with AC off. It has ghost cams so turning AC on makes the idle smooth

unplug the vacuum line to the brake booster, and it'll do the same thing

The motor is powering the AC so when you turn off AC there is no more pull on the motor also when you go racing everyone always turns AC off cause it will make you loose a little HP

It's just putting load on the engine and slightly changing the idle. When load is applied, the idle drops (naturally) and the computer will slightly "rev" to make up for it

when the ac is on the idle will automatically increase thats how its tuned , but since your cam is too big it will still chop on low rpm (800-1500) but it will chop faster

depends on the tune most tunes will have the rpm raised 25-50 ram when a/c is on
