It’s not just the marines every branch has a rank system and those in higher ranks tell those in lower ranks what to do. What till you get a job outside the marines and figure out it’s no different. You never have to respect the person but you should always respect the rank worn

He tends to stick to physical fitness which is very important in the Corps but that's his biggest issue. Many a military member not just in the Marines have proven themselves to excel & size, physical strength etc wasn't always the key factor for success or accomplishment(s).
