Let’s talk about “foster failing”🤔 Who remembers Rylie and his mom Rue? 😻 When I fostered them 2 1/2 years ago, hundreds and hundreds of people online tried to convince me to “foster fail” and keep both of them. I understand where they’re coming from and I loved Rue and Rylie, but foster failing is not something I’m interested in. By giving them up and letting them be adopted by other people, I’ve been able to help save over 200 more animals in the past 2 1/2 years. If I had kept them, that means I would have 4 of my own pets (who each live for 10+ years) and would now been extremely limited on how much I could foster, or if I could even foster at all 😅 if I had kept Rue and Riley, every single animal you’ve seen me post since then might not be alive today 😔 Sure, there are other wonderful fosters who may have been able to take them, but so many of these rescues are very last minute and done in the nick of time, especially for tiny orphaned kittens. If I adopt a pet, I can save a handful of them every decade. If I foster and give them up, I can save thousands in a decade. It’s really a no-brainer for me and I will always give up my fosters so I have room to save more lives! 🙏🏻 Fostering is simply a form of babysitting; I want to encourage everyone to change your mindset a little bit and think of fostering as an inherently temporary situation. Because it is! When we take our own emotions out of it and know that it’s temporary from day one, it makes it much easier to let them go and save more lives 💞 #fosterandadopt #orangekitten #catmom #catrescuer #fosterfail
