my dr said "why would you choose to be in pain when you don't have to be" (re: pain meds) and I realised I did not have a response for that, that wasn't some ancient social script I disagreed with.

This is interesting to me because I have systemic mastocytosis which basically means I have way too much histamine in my body, and depression and anxiety are one of the major symptoms that patients with this face

I was prescribed Hydroxyzine for anxiety and when I was unable to get it one month the psychiatrist told me to take allergy medicine because they are practically the same thing, that Hydroxyzine is also commonly prescribed for allergies. Looking at the information for Zyrtec right now (because I've never used it) it says not to use if you're allergic to hydroxyzine so it definitely seems like Zyrtec is gonna be my go to brand going forward. I am not diagnosed (because I don't have insurance) but I have so many symptoms of PMDD.

So women often have histamine intolerances and our histamine increases during this week, so if you take an antihistamine it will help to balance you out. Only need it during that week, I don’t take it every day but I do if I have somewhere to be and don’t want to rage
