I was there 25 years ago - nurses were generally treated poorly but paid well esp as its tax free. We did have to work a 48hr week tho which is exhausting. The other thing was that British nurses were treated better and paid much better than other nationalities. It was wrong and I couldn’t stay 😏

I am a band 8a NHS nurse practitioner in the UK also thinking about relocating in the future but don't know where yet. I think the negative posts come from people who are sad and miserable here in the UK but don't have the courage to move out because they are too scared, not brave enought and simply jealous of your success because you have made it work for you. if I wasn't tied to the UK cos of my children (I won't leave them, they leave me first!), then I'd be in Dubai in a heartbeat. I grew up in Jumeirah in the late 80's / early 90's, but also lived in Jebel Ali for a year when I was 19. loved every minute!
