If anyone doesnt know, the main chemical in catnip is nepetalactone which is found in plant leaves, when a cat smells it, it binds to their receptors in their nasal passages which stimulates sensory neurons, and areas of their brain associated with emotion and behaviour, this leads to a variety of reactions, playfulness, hyperactivity, excessive meowing, etc, this also can have a bad reaction on the cat, since every cat reacts differently, your cat may react with anxiety or something when stimualted
