Honestly, I don’t really get the hype. I bought Vice Co. since it’s the only one within my budget, and a lot of people said it’s really good. My skin isn’t textured, but I do have oily skin — though it’s manageable with the affordable powders I usually use. Of course, most cheap powders aren’t that finely milled, so they tend to look cakey and clump up when I reapply. Still, despite their price, they actually control my oiliness quite well since I don’t get extremely oily anyway.
So I decided to try this powder, which is a bit more expensive, but people say it’s “amazing.” My commute to work takes about an hour (two short jeepney rides and an LRT trip), and by the time I arrive — even with all the hulas from commuting — my face still looks okay. Once I’m inside my air-conditioned workplace, it holds up for about another hour. But then I start getting oily again, and honestly, the oil control isn’t that great.
The good part is, it doesn’t make my skin cakey or cling to dry patches. When I reapply, it looks smooth and really fine — almost like a filter. But again, after just another hour, the oiliness comes back even though I’m still in an air-conditioned room. It’s confusing because my cheaper powders actually keep my oil at bay better. The only clear advantage of Vice Co. is that it’s finely milled and looks beautiful on the skin — smooth, no cakeiness, and very lightweight. But when it comes to oil control? Sadly, it just doesn’t work for me.
