@kierin__: This speed racer edit is a slow burn but hopefully you stay to hear the conversation. 1 minute and 45 seconds of no racing. But this is the most impactful scene in speed racer for the characters development, or maybe in general. Pops maturity is something we don’t usually see in movies with family’s and it leaves me in awe every time. I turned black and white because it just felt right given the dialogue here. The way he speaks to speed in this scene is such a stark contrast to how he spoke to Rex, the character development in this movie is so top tier. This movie truly was ahead of its time

During the time this movie came out, the first iron man movie also appeared in cinemas in my country. Me and my parents were supposed to see iron man, but i decided to watch speed racer instead.
