There is no other religion where God was loving to the point where he literally humbled himself became his own creation experienced everything we experience then even after his own creation despised rejected and killed him he still forgave them and did not destroy them

I was raised in a family non regular church going Christians (Episcopalian, Protest, Catholic). I was only taught they pretty rose colored cliff notes. As an adult I got into the non-denom Evangelicals side of things. many times I'd ask some pretty simple questions, and received answered like "because thats just what the Bible says". around age 35, I'd had enough. I woke up and realized how ridiculous all of it was. I looked back at all of my questions that had no answers. I realized that I was done with following blindly, and I wasnt going to continue believing in things that had zero proof/legitimacy, and left me feeling confused. I know more about the Bible as an ex-vangelical than I did as a Christian, and that knowledge just solidifies my choice to deconstructed.

I no longer believe, but when I did as a child, it was only because of the people around me (family, friends etc) telling me this was the truth. I had no choice but to believe.

I struggled and still struggle with mental health issues after being abused and living in a family with generational trauma. I turned to the Bible because in my opinion it helps me to be a kinder, more forgiving and more loving person, and helped me find hope whilst feeling like I had none. I agree with you on "atrocities" in it, however you can't deny that a lot of parts are positive. I also think whether you're religious or not you should be kind to everyone even if you don't agree with their views. :3

I was born into it but left the chruch at 15 because I knew it was bs since I could understand what it meant. I’m in the same boat as you I don’t understand how people can genuinely read the bible and then continue to believe and worship this god.
