This is a question I get asked semi-frequently, and it's an earnest question so I thought I'd answer it with a little bit of behind the scenes stuff. Ersatz is 3D animated in Blender, with textures drawn in procreate. But if you're looking to do this, you can substitute procreate with an image editing software of your choice, I just use it to give a painterly effect to my models. You can animate cool stuff without any paid software at all! Ersatz is rendered in Blender EEVEE. I do think Cycles would be cool but it's time-consuming and expensive, processing-wise, so I adapted the visual direction to be a little more stylised to compensate. There is some jank in my models because I'm by no means a professional, but it's still so much fun to learn. I personally consider myself a better illustrator than I am a modeller/animator which is why I went for this kind of style, basically supplementing my weaknesses with my strengths. I wouldn't recommend making a whole pilot by yourself (after this I'm defintiely going to focus on smaller projects) but I hope this was an interesting peek into the process. idk why people still love using ai in a way like. u just get a video, u cant touch characters details and edit ANYTHINg with your own hands. ai is useless, except writing and find researches, and polishing in 2d style. if its not editable, its useless
