Western governments sometimes preach values like: Democracy, Human rights, Sovereignty …but don’t always practice them consistently. When a country uses these same values to justify opposing Western influence, the West may react negatively — exposing a kind of hypocrisy.

Henry Kissinger started to industrialize China in 1970. At the same time high finance started to deindustrialize the West. The banker David Rockefeller praised the communist revolution in China in his autobiography ('Memoirs,' 2003). They did that because it served their interests. They couldn't care less about 'democracy.'
