Trimming uneven work with the wheel going full speed, especially trimming the inside, is so chaotic and more likely to send something flying 👀

What about using more clay to secure it better to the wheel head? I’m scared for you 😂

Hey! Trimming like this is not necessarily time efficient and can have students ending up with broken pieces! I always recommend using a rasp and sponge and ditching the wheel when trimming student pieces

I just broke my first piece I ever threw while trimming and this made me feel so much better. I needed this to not give up.

i don’t think you should’ve like trimmed so fast or like dry because it should be leaving ribbons and probably shouldn’t be trimming the inside, if anything i’m sure you can just rub a sponge in the bottom

@Pottery by Kyla Hello there please I’ve gone through your page and I found one of your items interesting and I’d appreciate if you could make one for me or do you have any similar kind of this available for purchase

So far I break the most pieces picking them up while/after drying. I'm at 3 in 5 weeks

I feel like the speed is very quick!! I know those wheels go from 0 to a 100 sometimes but i think maybe going a bit slower with leather hard clay (the pieces look very dry makes it harder to trim!). I think in the future it would be awesome to teach them how to trim so they can feel more connected to the pieces they make (:

Why are you trimming more than the bottom? I feel like people will notice it’s not what they left…
