For days I cried uncontrollably, slept a lot, and wrestled with the thought that maybe I was just having a mental breakdown. But something deep inside me was shifting so intensely it almost felt physical. The girl who thought church was fake, cringy, and money-hungry suddenly asked her best friend if she could go with her. My best friend, who had prayed for me, my husband, and my kids for years, finally got to see one of those prayers come to life. 14 years is a long time of holding onto hope. But she did. I didn’t know it yet, but the Holy Spirit was working on my heart in a way I couldn’t ignore. I went from skepticism to binge-watching past sermons, absorbing truths I’d once mocked.
