What are they doing with the phones during school? What are the consequences if they use them w/out permission? It’s like the first day of school, so everyone is on their best behavior

People are going to hate it but my district did no phones as a test in some of the schools and EVERY SCHOOL with no phones had higher grades, less behavior issues, etc etc etc. It’s the phones!

I got my flip phone taken up in 2002. I can't imagine how distracting an android or iPhone would be in the classroom.

We (Louisiana) did this last year. 1. Cut WAY down in fights 2. Cut WAY down on cyber-bullying. 3. Their eye contact and mproved IMMENSELY —- both with adults and EACH OTHER 🏳️🏳️🏳️🏳️🏳️🏳️

We took phones away in January 2025. Same result. THEY TALKED TO EACH OTHER. I’m planning no technology days in my classroom this year. Paper, pencil, and books only.

phones in school are for the parents. I said what I said. it's so they can be reached in case of a shooting. I'm an hour from VA Tech. that changed everything.

The whole “no phones in school” will result in numerous lawsuits after the first post-ban school shooting takes place. Schools can’t ban communication devices if schools can’t prevent mass shootings.
