I get most of the criticism. But beyond survival, what exactly did Saudi gain from countering Jamal’s Pan-Arabism(which looked down on GCC people as lesser and centered Egypt and the Levant)using Wahhabi rigidity mixed with Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood political Islam which admittedly did sow the seeds for extremist ideology that produced terrorists groups who then targeted Saudi itself. And if today’s Saudi is shifting toward a more tolerant model, why is it still attacked? Blaming the GCC for the Middle East’s failures feels like the new “colonialism” scapegoat
