it was my dads 18th in bootcamp (this was in the 80’s) and they made him do pushups until he reached his age and kept “loosing” count and he said it felt like he was doing push ups for an hour

Had a guy turn 20 in basic…drills made him choose 20 different exercises that we got to do for a 20 count. He thought they were joking and chose the hardest ones on the list….they weren’t joking

when I was at basic, we kept our birthdays to ourselves bc the MTIs would smoke us, when it was my birthday a couple people in my flight made me birthday cards out of notebook paper (very much not allowed)
