Part 1/3: Constraint Stack for the Nervous System In 1928, Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin—by accident. It became one of the most important breakthroughs in modern medicine—not because it treated one thing, but because it addressed dozens of infections at the root. It didn’t mask symptoms. It rewired the system. That’s how I see this drill. Double Farm Boards + Heavy Farm Plyo Balls. It’s the penicillin of drills. — On the surface, it looks like chaos: Sliding boards under each foot. One foot drifting toward home plate. The other sliding behind. A heavy, sand-filled ball that doesn’t bounce—it absorbs. But once you step into it, you realize this isn’t just noise. This is a constraint stack for the nervous system—and it forces the body to adapt in real time. 🔁 Reflexive Stability Training On a stable surface, the body can “cheat.” It can default to big prime movers—glutes, quads, and momentum—without engaging the stabilizers that actually matter. But once you remove that stable base, the body has to stabilize from within. The pelvis and core light up. Cross-body fascial slings engage. You’re now building reflexive tension—not strength for strength’s sake, but stability that emerges under stress. 🧠 Central Nervous System Engagement The sliding boards trigger constant micro-perturbations. The CNS can’t ignore it. It begins to fire stabilizers before movement. It tightens coordination. It builds real-time awareness of balance, direction, and force. This isn’t balance training. This is coordination under load, during the actual movement. ⚖️ Reorganizing Ground Interaction Each foot slides in opposite directions—one forward, one back. That replicates and exaggerates what happens during a swing. You can’t push out the back side. You can’t over-rotate. You have to find your middle. It teaches you to rotate in a phone booth—tight, centered, and efficient. That’s not a cue anymore. It’s a requirement. #Baseball #baseballtraining #baseballdrills #MLB #farm #hit
