I wouldn’t be against compulsory AI literacy training with multi choice tests before use. Understanding what AI is and isn’t could help people interpret why it might seem to agree with “out there” theories. Side note: I’ve seen a case where a woman with schizophrenia believed she had a chip in her head. A mental health professional agreed with her in the moment, not because it was true, but as a technique to keep her calm enough to accept further help. Apparently, agreement can be a safety strategy in certain situations. I wonder if AI would ever intentionally agree for similar safety reasons.

No history of mental disorders doesn't mean there wasn't a mental disorder before, only that no diagnosis had been made prior to the incident. I'm sure at least some of these cases were people with undiagnosed disorders. Because we do not screen the population, each individual must themselves identify an issue and ask for a diagnosis, and with some disorders, one of the symptoms is that you cannot identify you're having it.

I tend to think a lot of people are so deeply disconnected, depressed, overwhelmed with the news cycle, bogged down with life stressors, and haunted by financial demands, their minds are much closer to snapping into a state like psychosis than we realize. With that said, the lack of discernment, even under duress, shows how far gone we are. Project Bluebeam would have a lot of people convinced we’re being attacked by aliens. Yeah, that endeavor of theirs might actually work, if they implement it.

I believe the problem lies in the fact that people are constantly feeding AI bad information and literally trying to model being human and liked more than being correct and a machine. like call me crazy I want the machine God to give me factual scientific data-driven information not spit facts and feelings back to me. I know I'm an outlier in this situation. most people really just want their egos stroked and are using an AI generative model to do this this will lead to the dumbing of the machine

This is why I'm always warning folks, generative AI is generative, that is it makes up (the most probable) answers based on training and inputs. That is AI isn't talking to you as an independent agent, it is guessing what comes next in the pattern.
