70% disabled and I had to fight 3 years to get rated...hip fractures, hearing loss, TBI from 2 IEDs, but there's people getting 100% for sleep apnea. Doesn't make much sense to me

I'm a Marine Corps OEF vet, and Caleb is absolutely correct. Not every veteran deserves disability, and a select few deserve 100%.

Well there was 100% a couple that didn’t and I stand by it. All serving deserve it but the one girl didn’t even make it through a month or two of entry level boot camp training and she was trying to get it

he wasn't really wrong though. he was talking about people taking advantage of VA benefits who had nothing happen to them while in, which takes from those who need it. it's not wrong to feel that way if you don't fully understand how or why it works, and it's ok that people don't fully understand it. it's not common knowledge

The issue I have with it is most of these people who are “disabled” from the service would froth at the mouth if you suggested free healthcare for all while they reap the benefits of it

If you leave the service in any condition worse than that which you entered, then you deserve compensation. Full stop. You are being paid for injuries, mental and physical, sustained due to the nature of the job.

I have to be honest. im on his side like 75% there are people who get va medical because they got a paper cut one day. and the amount of people who use the system to get out and get 100% its appaling. there are hundreds of us who have done and seen real things that amount to so much more

hes not wrong. Its oretty common that many vets are taking advantage of the disability system. I saw it everyday when i was enlisted

VA gave me 0% after serving 20 years on fast attack submarines. They said my bilateral hearing loss and tinnitus aren't service related, even though I spent probably 75% of my time in near steam turbines and other rotating machinery.
