@sustainableseedling: Starting a flower garden?🌺 I don’t recommend these. 🌿Even though both of these are very easy to grow from seed, they take up so much time dead heading and caring for them🤦🏻♀️ 🥺At this point it’s not even fun anymore. Which plants will you never grow again?🌸 #cutflowers #cutflowergarden #growingflowers #flowergarden #cosmosflower
My cosmos fell over quickly and now their little area looks like a disaster. There’s a lot of bushy greenery for minimal blooms.

It’s important to note the variety of flowers. There are dozens of coreopsis - which one didn’t work? And the area where the cosmos are planted looks pretty shady - they need full sun to reach their potential.

For Cosmos I suspect your experience is based on the variety chosen and the zone. My cosmos bouquets last much longer than dahlias - at least 7 days or more. With multi blooms on each stem, I deadhead the blooms after cutting and buds still keep on opening.

Cosmos are definitely my biggest disappointment. They’re blocking all of the other flowers with their extremely bushy greenery & minimal flowers.

I feel like cosmos are only meant to grow as cut flowers, not as a decorative outdoor flower.
