After the fierce and world-shaking battle with the demon Mahishasura, the resplendent Goddess, in her victorious radiance, transmuted herself into a Yantra — a potent geometric embodiment of her cosmic Shakti. Recognizing the profound energy held within this divine symbol, Lord Shiva, the supreme God , entrusted the yantra to Indra, the sovereign of Svarga (heaven). Indra, with utmost reverence, enshrined the yantra in Amarapur, the luminous capital of the gods. As long as the yantra remained there, peace, cosmic balance, and harmony radiated across the three realms. But with the turning of time and the arrival of Tretā Yuga, darkness crept into the divine order. The mighty demon king Ravan, intoxicated by power and conquest, waged war against the heavens. His formidable son, Meghnath, defeated Indra and seized the sacred yantra. They brought it triumphantly to Lanka, the golden city. There, the yantra was installed—not with devotion, but with pride and dominion. Removed from its rightful place and misaligned with its purpose, the sacred yantra’s energetic harmony was disrupted. The balance of the cosmos trembled, and a long shadow of chaos unfurled over the world. But destiny had already chosen its restorer. Lord Ram, the maryada purushottam — an avatar of Vishnu, rose to reestablish dharma. After his epic battle with Ravan, Ram reclaimed the sacred yantra. With deep reverence, he brought it to Ayodhya and installed it in his palace. There, he worshipped it in secrecy and sincerity, performing the most esoteric and arduous rituals, as outlined in hidden tantric scriptures — rites known only to the initiated. Under the grace of the yantra, Ayodhya thrived with divine peace, abundance, and spiritual illumination. Years passed. When Lord Ram's time on Earth neared its end, the Goddess appeared to him in a dream — radiant and compassionate. She revealed that in the age to come, Kali Yuga, humans would forget the purity of devotion and the discipline of tantra. Therefore, the sacred yantra must no longer reside in any kingdom. With heavy yet obedient heart, Ram walked alone at dawn to the banks of the Sarayu River. There, he whispered his final mantras, bowed before the rising sun, and gently released the yantra into the sacred waters — offering it to time, to the river, and to the future seekers who might still remember.
