This explains a lot!!! I’ve lost my dad, sister and mom all in 5 years and the only time I cry is when a good memory of them comes.

Sounds awful but I only suffered real grief when my dog died. Awful but I didn’t shed a tear when family members passed away.

I definitely relate to everything you say. My psychiatrist just told me it was anxiety. Told me you are usually diagnosed in early years. I’m 62 and adhd wasn’t a thing back then..

I know how im supposed to feel. I just dont feel it. I still experience sadness etc so im not a psychopath. but when bad things happen I dont really care. I just make jokes about the bad things. I never know how to comfort people I care about cos I dont understand what they're feeling or what they'd want to hear as I dont know myself

It sucks, I'm also a first responder so it seems I've doubled up on showing no emotions at all.
