I think the funnier one is one the guy says “French fries” and Tom just looks at him and says “come on” like does he think French fries are actually French? They originate in Belgium and there are so many different styles of fries that originated in the U.S.

hes not saying American food is trash, he's saying what you consider American food is actually from other countries, hamburger are from hamburg, French fries are from France/Belgium, apple pie is from England, clam chowder is French. the only dish i can think of that is genuinely American is buffalo wings (although fried chicken is Scottish)
