When I heard "didnt wanna be this kind of animal anymore" for the first time, I knew this game understood me. I have never vocalized those feelings before, and Disco Elysium did it for me. And then it made me wanna be this animal again.

It probably wasn’t intentional, but this is a reason I can’t really get back in the Disco Elysium again. I’ve played it so much over the years, I don’t want to play as Harry anymore. I’m tired of seeing this greasy animal in front of me. I don’t wanna play as a superstar cop or an experimental cop or an apocalypse cop. I wanna play as a competent individual who can solve a case. I am tired of telling people I don’t know who I am but I do know who I am. I know the mistakes I’ve made and I’m trying to do what I can and not repeat them, but I have to do the same exact thing every playthrough. I’m not trying to say here that Harry doesn’t deserve this. He’s a god-awful individual, but it doesn’t really help that every time I meet Jean again he tells me i’m a terrible person. I am aware of this. I can’t appreciate playing this game anymore. But I’m going to try anyway.

the way DE captures the exhaustion and feeling of pointlessness of severe depression while still having concrete quests and goals is honestly amazing. and not to mention playing with high electrochem with the constant reminders that you would feel just a little bit better if you weren't sober is so accurate to what having a psychological addiction problem is I'm concerned for the developers

If you alrrady played DE, I recomend doing a hacked playthrough where you give yourself the max in each ability That way you see every interaction and mental conflict and, to me, it feels like the most Harry possible. So many voices and thoughts all external input gets drownes
