I am a preschool teacher. This is a classroom not a circus. I am an educator. Not an entertainer. This is my 21st year. I'm done spending my money to fund the decorations. If they want a new rug the school or the parent can provide it.

Here’s another take…as a 20 year veteran teacher I don’t start the year with the room decorated. That’s something that happens over the course of the year with the kids. It becomes our classroom as we put our own unique stamp on it. And some kids are very bothered by overly decorated classrooms.

The speed that parents went from whining about buying school supplies to crying that their child’s classroom wasn’t aesthetically appealing enough is mind blowing! There is a problem in the education system and it’s the parents.
