I’ve been doing this with several types of chili peppers, about 5–6 varieties, for the past 5–7 years. Every single plant shows the same results — it somehow stays dormant until January, but from January onwards, the cut branches start turning brown, and then this brown color moves down toward the root, and the plant dies. Absolutely every single one of them does the same!

This is true, peppers are perennials actually just as long as the frost doesn’t touch the plant

Do you water it and when leaves start to grow do you remove them. I did this with 11 plants last year and only one survive so what am I doing wrong please advise and thank you
