@markwilmson: Follow these rules during your next in-person interview to land the job. ………………………………………………………………….1 — Dress the Part You don’t need to look like you’re heading to the Oscars… but you do need to look like you already belong in that office. Your clothes speak before you do. 2 — Skip the Cologne or Perfume You want them remembering your answers, not your scent cloud. Allergies, personal preferences—don’t risk it. 3 — Be Early Not 30 minutes early—that’s awkward. Aim for 10–15 minutes. It’s enough to show you’re dependable without camping in their lobby. 4 — Small Talk is a Test Those first few minutes? That’s your chance to show you’re someone they’d enjoy working with. Light, positive, relatable conversation. 5 — Don’t Be Desperate Energy matters. Want the job, but act like you have options. Confidence attracts—neediness repels. 6 — Research the Company AND the Interviewers Know their mission, their recent wins, and even a few personal details from LinkedIn. Show up knowing them, not just the role. 7 — Bring Copies of Your Resume in a Nice Portfolio Not a crumpled page from your car. A clean, professional presentation says, “I came prepared.” 8 — Be Articulate Speak clearly. Short, impactful sentences. No filler words. 9 — Come Prepared with Stories Interview answers backed with real-life examples are ten times more memorable. 10 — Have Good Questions End with thoughtful, open-ended questions that show you’ve been listening and thinking about the role.
