@thesoulful_writer: We all had that uncle who appeared not when the world called, but when he decided. As children, we thought him odd. We thought him strange. He spoke in fragments, offering only the pieces of himself he was willing to give. The rest, he locked away. We mistook it for arrogance. We did not understand. Now life has had its turn with us. It has pulled at us from every side, stretched us to the edge of ourselves, and taught us the cost of being endlessly available. And suddenly, we see him differently. It was not arrogance. It was preservation. And if we are honest, we want to be like him—moving at the pace of our own choosing, giving from a full cup, ankeeping what matters most away from the reach of careless hands. He wasn’t strange. He was free.

This moved me deeply, protecting your spirit is not selfish, it’s sacred.
He wasn’t closed off… he was living in the wholeness of his freedom.
