here's the thing, violence/anger should be the LAST thing, if it's even on the list, a lot like a fucking therapist, you need to be patient and careful, but also stand when needed and actually be there when your child makes a mistake, and comfort them. No wonder most Gen z and the Gen before that (Mel, I can't spell it 😭) doesn't want kids, WE WERE RAISED ON ANGER AND A LOT OF US ARE AFRAID THAT WE'LL DO THE SAME THAT OUR PARENTS DID BECAUSE WE WERE RAISED ON LITTLE TO NO PAITENCE.

If my parents first instinct wasn’t screaming, slapping, and whooping, I would’ve gotten in WAY less trouble. Since violence was always the answer, I was terrified to make ANY kind of communications whatsoever. A LARGE chunk of what I got in trouble for could’ve been prevented if I could’ve felt safe with them. Whooping doesn’t solve anything, it just suppresses it.
