Body dysmorphia is looking in the mirror and seeing someone completely different from the person everyone else sees. It's taking a hundred pictures and hating every single one. It's comparing yourself to old photos, wishing you could go back to a body you once criticized, and realizing you never truly appreciated yourself because you were too busy finding flaws. It's getting dressed and feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. It's knowing people tell you that you look fine, but struggling to believe them because your mind tells you something different. It's wanting to feel beautiful without needing reassurance, and wanting to look at a picture of yourself without immediately picking apart everything you wish you could change. The hardest part? Realizing how much time you've spent being cruel to yourself for simply being human. I'm learning that my body is not my enemy. It has carried me through life, through pregnancy & motherhood, through difficult days, and through moments I never thought I'd make it through. It deserves kindness, even on the difficult days, and through moments I never thought I'd make it through. It deserves kindness, even on the days I struggle to recognize the person staring back at me. One day, I hope I can look at a picture of myself and see memories instead of flaws. I hope I can look in the mirror and see a person worthy of love, not a list of things that need to be fixed. If you struggle with body dysmorphia, please know you aren't alone. You deserve to be in pictures. You deserve to take up space. You deserve to enjoy your life right now, not just in some future version of yourself that you think will finally be good enough. You do not have to love every inch of your body every day to treat yourself with compassion. And you do not have to wait until you look different to start living. Your life is happening now. Please don't let the way you see yourself steal every beautiful moment you deserve to remember. 🤍 #fyp #selflovejourney #bodydysphormia #mirror #xzybca
