I go through this almost every day. He would rather have fast food than home meals. If I say, I’m making a chicken dish he’ll say ew I had chicken already for lunch.

Sooo true!! There was a point in time he was bringing his lunch I packed to work and would throw it away and order out. And literally tell me he threw it away. Then got mad when I stopped packing his lunch. Always a lose lose

I had years of this. The deadbeat ex would say, he'll eat it later. Wouldn't eat it, then he'd go around telling people he hasn't eaten for days.

My experience, toxic people trash a kitchen. It could be peanut butter and jelly, and the kitchen will be a total disaster.

Dealt with this. Daily, I'd make dinner...he didn't like X, so he'd go get himself fast food. Made him lunches, would sit in his car to rot while he got food elsewhere. He complained "we" were spending too much money on food and blamed me. I stopped cooking for him. Then I was lazy and useless because I didn't. No option would fix anything or be the right one

I would cook. Table would be set and everything. He would take one look at it and say, “I’m not eating that. Kids…what do you want from McDonalds?” I would be left to eat and clean up alone. Over time the kids learned not to like my cooking. Double whammy. Don’t miss any of it.
