Just a few helpful tips! 1. Always feed in a clean jar! I have done this since I started making sourdough. I don’t know if it has something to do with my OCD 😂 but I quickly realized that my starter just performed better in a clean jar. During my classes, I talk about the two jar method. One clean jar is always for feeding. The second jar is always for discard. It’s an easy method that helps keep them separate. 2. FILTERED WATER! I have a Berky filter but there are plenty on Amazon and with other companies that filter out EVERYTHING. Especially with all the new scaled back regulations of glyphosate and PFAs 🥲 I promise a filter is worth it! 3. Bread flour is my go to! I’ve tried both and bread flour ALWAYS out performs AP. during class I always talk about bread, flour being better for things like sourdough and pizza crust, whereas all-purpose flowers a softer flower so it’s better for cookies, cake, cakes, and sweet treat treats. 4. NO MAM on a 1:1:1- nine times out of 10 the messages in my inbox, complaining of flat dense and a soft crumb on the inside have a lot to do with a starter ratio. I have several videos that go into depth on this, but feel free to ask questions in the comments if you have them. These are just tips and tricks.
