College is not just about what salary you make. It’s an education. You are becoming a well rounded person. I have a masters degree and I work at an amazing museum and I love going to work. If you are worried about tuition, just go to a cheaper school and apply to several scholarships.

Why are we stopping at 5 years? You know all those doctors, lawyers, dentists, nurses, scientists, professors, make like 0 dollars the first 5 years after college, then become top 5% in earnings the rest of their lives

Maybe if entrepreneurship was encouraged then more people could have their own businesses and not depend on others for their income.

Easy degrees have high competition & low pay. Difficult degrees have low competition & higher pay. But universities are in the market of providing degrees the students ask for and don’t match degrees offered to match jobs available

Bachelor's degree holder here. My salary is $44k. I'm in a better overall financial situation than a lot of other graduates, but still... I should be making at least $70k at this point in my life. At my current salary, I'm WAY below the threshold to qualify for reduced rent where I live. I could get a huge raise tomorrow and I would still be seen as someone who is struggling so badly that I need a break on rent.

How is that the National medium is higher than that? I thought 67-70K was the national medium... Makes no sense graduates are less than that :S
Where are you getting those numbers?

It all depends the type of degree you get, your grades, and honestly your personality. A degree in education versus engineer, are two different types of pay scale. Also, the amount of education and comcentration matter. I have a masters in commercial real estate investing with a bachelors in financing & banking. I was able to get $80k from my first job. So, it’s possible to make money you just have to position yourself and have a little luck.
