We did our house in LP vertical siding, repainted in abyss black. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome

fun fact, the fiber in fiber cement board is cellulose. So both LP and Hardie are made from wood. Anyways, I'm redoing my house in Hardie and it sucks to work with. never again

Well when building new why would you want something you have to maintenance.. paint .. caulk … Jesus just get a good vinyl product

You could of used a 15 or 16 g nails as well and you wouldn’t have the head showing

Hardie siding is fire proof. After the fires in California and the hassle to try and rebuild. That and a metal roof and or sprinkler on the roof is worth it. Probably can get a discount on insurance too.
