My son went to county jail and they refused to give him and of his mental health meds for weeks. The withdrawals he went through were awful and unnecessary. Mental health meds should not be cut off cold turkey but they didn't care.

What if you have prior prescriptions from a doctor that you weren’t abusing that can cause withdrawal? Are prescribed meds allowed in jail or do they cold turkey that too?

My son is a paramedic and ends up going into jail because people have real seizures over not getting their meds psych medicines or whatever

My mom was In prison. My bestie that lived across the street from me house was being raided and I was on the phone with my mom. And she told me to go outside and fake a seizure infront of the cops. Now I know where she got that from.

i fake fainted one time in highschool bc our teacher wouldn’t let us get water and it was the middle of summer (aussie summer heat) and i took one for the team (i was fainting fr frequently at the time)

not all county jails make you go cold turkey, the one I went to they gave people medicated detox but I’m sure not all probably do that and I have no idea if prison does but just so people aren’t terrified if there gonna get locked up they will have to cold turkey. I will say if you know you’re going I’d go get help first bc even tho some medicate you it’s still not fun and not as nice as it would be in a rehab, it’s not fun at all but ik I’d personally rather do it in rehab. They only came every 10hrs where i went to jail and they definitely weren’t on time and rehab you get meds every 6hrs and it’s always on time and you’re not freezing and getting dragged out of bed for court 😂

nys is $1 a week for prisoners to be locked up i never knew this until I looked into it. my sons father is locked up rn.

I was on a psych ward for a while and saw some people detoxing WITH full hospital/medical care and it looked like hell. I can’t imagine trying to do that in a jail cell 🫠
