#NkonkonsaNews: Ghanaian authorities have rescued people suspected of being trafficked and exploited in cybercrime operations following a major security operation targeting suspected cybercrime centres in the Greater Accra Region. The operation, known as Operation Blackout, also called Operation Cyber Hunt, involved Ghanaian security agencies working with international partners, including the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency, the FBI and Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Authorities reported that 120 people were rescued and eight suspects arrested. Items seized included 136 mobile phones, 130 laptops, internet connectivity devices and four vehicles, one of which was reportedly stolen from Canada. Investigators also recovered jewellery and 10 Nigerian passports. According to Nigeria’s National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), 119 Nigerians were rescued, with 105 repatriated to Nigeria and the remaining 14 undergoing processing as of October 12, 2026. The operation highlights growing concerns over human trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable people in online fraud networks, as authorities continue investigations and arrangements for the safe return and support of those rescued. 🎥: @dailyviewgh For more news and updates, visit Nkonkonsa.com
