Yuri always knew from the beginning that they liked each other, and despite knowing that Keifer likes Jay, he still wanted to intervene by proposing marriage to Jay with the excuse of helping his family. He is a selfish, manipulative and a very bad friend, just with everything that happens in books 2 and 3 it is super clear.

yuri keeps inserting himself when he’s the reason for his own pain. from the beginning, he was never really part of the story, but he still pushed himself in. now he’s acting like he’s the one who’s been hurt the most, even complaining to jayjay like he’s the victim. in the book, it’s clear he’s always been loved — first by ella, then by freya. but kiefer only has jayjay, the only person who’s truly loved him from the start.

I don’t blame Yuri for still tryna get her as his. Even tho it made him a “bad friend”. But when it was keifers ex, dhe chose keifer, Yuri never ever got chosen by girls even tho he was also popular. When he saw Jay Jay he didn’t want to just let her slip away the way he let the rest.
