I work at walmart and we have to remove the tags due to tariffs. we had a whole meeting about it. Everything in the store (everywhere target too) is going up in price you only notice because apparel has its own personal tag.

babe, it's the tariffs. they're taking advantage of us because promises were made and broken.

They had to take the pieces off the tags because the pricing was no longer accurate due to tariffs taking affect. Companies have to pay the tariff at port when the shipment arrives. Say the original price of the tariff was 2 dollars. The company sold the shirt for 10 dollars to make the tariff back and make profit. Now the new tariffs hit and companies have to pay a 7 dollar tariff at port. Now the shirt that was originally 10 dollars is 20 dollars.

I used to work at payless. Any given day a shoe was $19.99 but on BOGO half off weekends the shoe was $39.99. People would go crazy for BOGO

Ma’am I’m work in the retail store. We are doing price changes every week. It’s either the price go up or down. We are removing the tag because they’re no longer that price. 😊

I saw a video like this in Walmart too, she found one with a tag they missed and it was about half of what the sign by the clothes said the price was.
