A recent study was done on whether or not partial (bottom half), full ROM, or top half partial calf raises provided more growth stimulus to the gastrocnemius portion of your calf (the biggest and most visible part) and the study concluded that bottom half partial reps contributed to the most gastrocnemius hypertrophy. If you want to see the study yourself it is called “Greater gastrocnemius muscle hypertrophy after partial range of motion training performed at long muscle lengths”
