Even those small cans seem like more than you need for one recipe. I used to freeze mine too. Now I just buy the kind in a squeeze tube. There isn't as much as in the can and it lasts in the fridge about a month and a half.

I put it directly in the plastic bag and flatten the whole thing. Then I can just break off a piece when I need a tablespoon or something for a recipe.
